The fund of the Center for Social Research（CSR）of Peking University includes dynamic fund  and immovable fund, and the distribution ratio of dynamic fund and immovable fund is 2:8. Directed donations will be handled in accordance with the donation contract.

Dynamic Fund: it’s directly used to finance the training of talents, scientific research and various services and activities of the CSR.

Immovable Fund: The capital is retained, with 80% of the income of the immovable fund used to sponsor various programs and activities, and the remaining 20% incorporated into the principal to ensure the stable growth of the fund. The annual income of the fund is determined by the Peking University Education Foundation according to the operation of the fund in the current year.

According to the purpose of the fund, the fund of the CSR can be divided into the following categories:

Talents Introduction Fund

This fund is committed to enhancing the core competitiveness of the CSR. The annual income of this fund is used to introduce the outstanding talents at home and abroad.

Talents Training Fund

This fund is mainly used to promote the following three programs:

1.Seminar on Sociology and Demography: the goal is to provide a platform of academic exchange for young and middle-aged scholars in China. The seminars had been successfully organized for ten sessions from 2005 to 2016 with great significance to the academic community of sociology and demography in China.

2. Workshop on Quantitative Social Science: the goal is to develop a national training base of quantitative social science, recruiting more than ten young and middle-aged scholars from universities every year and combining training and research in the workshop.

3. Top-notch Talent Training Plan: the plan provides elite training model to freshman and sophomore students of Peking University. 10 to 15 students with potential are selected to do reading and participate seminars, researches, and fundamental studies so as to cultivate their interests and enhance their capacities in social science research.

Scientific Research Activity Fund

The fund is mainly used to promote the following three types of programs:

1. International Exchange Activities: To strengthen communication and cooperation among the center and top universities and research institutions at home and abroad, this fund supports the CSR to organize and participate various academic forums and conferences at home and abroad.

2. Major Scientific Research Project: After reviewed by the Fund Management Council, this fund sponsors research projects with significant value.

3. Scholarships: This fund provides financial subsidies to outstanding students and research workers.

Infrastructure Fund

The fund is used to improve the office conditions of the CSR.
