Bernhard Nauck is the principal investigator of the German Team and Director of the Research Group on Family and Migration Studies in the Department of Sociology of the Technische Universit?t Chemnitz. Amongst his many activities, he has had positions as professor at the Universities of Cologne, Bonn, Oldenburg, Wuppertal, Weingarten and Hamburg. He has published his work for example in the European Sociological Review, Demographic Research, the Journal of Family Issues, the Journal of Cross Cultural Psychology and the Journal of Comparative Family Studies. His work centers on migration as well as cross-national comparative research on kinship and families. He has made significant contributions to the field of family sociology in his work on the value of children in cross-cultural perspective.
